DIGISECURE tackles the digital awareness gap that leaves millions of European adults exposed to phishing, data theft, and online fraud. The goal is to make digital security a skill accessible to everyone — starting with those who need it most: older adults, jobseekers, rural residents, and anyone with low digital skills. The project does this through a practical, non-formal approach — interactive toolkits, hands-on training, and institutional guidelines — so people learn by actually protecting themselves, not just reading theory.
Objective 1
Develop a simple, practical Digital Security Toolkit that translates complex concepts like GDPR, phishing, and data protection into guides, infographics, and exercises anyone can use, even without a digital background.
Objective 2
Take this toolkit beyond theory: test it in the field with real adults and educators across three European countries, measure its effectiveness, and turn it into guidelines that education institutions can adopt for the long term, beyond the project’s lifetime.
Activities
Toolkit Creation
Research on GDPR and digital threats, followed by the creation of an interactive toolkit (guides, infographics, scenario-based exercises), translated into Italian, Spanish, and Cto ensure accessibility across all partner countries.
Pilot Training
Non-formal training sessions in each partner country: educators are trained to use the toolkit, then run hands-on workshops with digitally low-skilled adults, including role-play exercises on phishing, secure passwords, and online privacy.
Guidelines & Dissemination
Results from the pilot training are analyzed and turned into concrete recommendations for adult education institutions, shared through EPALE, local events, and press releases in each partner country.
